Still feeling so grateful for the way our little healing balms have been received by this community 💛

What started as a way to help soothe my daughter’s eczema-prone skin has grown into something so much bigger. I wanted something that could care for hands, lips, dry patches, and even replace a night cream — something that felt rich and healing, but never greasy.

At our first Christmas market with Apis & Flos at @wyenurseryltd , so many of you asked about one of our favourite healing plants: yarrow

This humble wildflower has an incredible history. Yarrow has been used for thousands of years for its powerful healing properties. In fact, Homer’s Iliad tells the story of Achilles using yarrow to treat wounds during the Trojan War, earning it the ancient name Achillea millefolium.

Known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and skin-soothing benefits, yarrow helps calm irritation and support natural skin repair — which is why we slow-infuse it in sunflower oil and include it in our Étoile winter balm

My daughter and I love hiking and hand-foraging yarrow and other healing plants, bringing them home to slowly transform into our botanical balms, made with care for both skin and earth.

Our first market was such a joy, we almost sold out!

What made it so special wasn’t just seeing our products go home with so many of you, but witnessing how much love and curiosity people had for what we’re creating. From hiking and hand-foraging local plants and flowers, to slowly infusing them and turning them into nourishing skincare — this journey has been deeply personal.

To share that story alongside my daughter — watching her light up as she talked to people, offered testers, and connected with our community — was truly moving. 💫 She’s learning what it means to build something from the ground up, with care, creativity, and heart.

Hi, I’m Camille — the hands and heart behind Apis & Flos. I’m an artist, mother of three, and conservation manager living in Tiny, Ontario. My work has always been rooted in care — for my family, for the land, and for the small pollinators that keep our world blooming.

Apis & Flos grew from a simple but powerful moment: being shamed by a neighbour for having dandelions on my lawn. What some see as weeds, I see as medicine, food for pollinators, and symbols of resilience. That moment inspired me to begin crafting botanical balms that honour the plants around us while offering simple, natural care for the skin.

Each balm is infused with hand-foraged botanicals, blended in small batches, and packaged with intention. For me, this is more than skincare — it’s a way of reconnecting with the earth, celebrating seasonal rhythms, and sharing slow, meaningful rituals of care.
